Appellate Law Appellate Law

Litigating a case on appeal is fundamentally different from trying the matter to a judge or jury. Many lawyers simply attempt to "retry the facts" on appeal. They fail to comb through the myriad of disputes and issues decided by the judge or jury to find the few discrete, clear legal issues that can overturn or sustain the trial court’s decision. Our appellate experience, including years working directly with judges on the merits of a large variety of appeals, enables us to identify and hammer home the arguments that will win on appeal.
